Badger State Trail Current conditions

The trail has reopened but is very wet has some soft muddy spots in some locations and will for the foreseeable future. Extra caution is advised; narrow street tires are not recommended.

Monroe Detour: Beginning Tuesday, Sept. 4, a 0.75-mile section of the Badger State Trail from 18th Ave. to Cty. Hwy. DR in Monroe will be closed due to construction on State Highway 11. Detour signs will be posted during construction.

Horseback riding and UTVs or "side-by-side ATVs" are not permitted on the Badger State Trail.

To report any issues, please call 608-527-2335 and describe the area affected by using mile or bridge marker numbers or reference road crossing names.

State trail passes are required for bicyclists 16 years and older. Passes may be purchased at self-registration boxes along the trail and at local vendors. New self-registration stations are at Market Place drive and Purcell Road.

Pets are welcome provided they are on a leash 8 feet or shorter and the owners pick up after them.
