Footville Wildlife Area

Footvile Wildlife Area currently consists of several, small state owned or eased scattered wildlife land parcels (529 acres) and over 8,500 acres of leased land located between the City of Evansville and the Village of Footville in northwestern Rock County. This public hunting ground stretches over portions of Plymouth, Union, Porter, Spring Valley, Center and Magnolia townships. The leased parcels exist primarily due to the cooperation of many private landowners, who have allowed public hunting on their land for over six decades. Please be on your best behavior when using their property and respect landowner rights!

The area is dominated by cropland with wooded and grassy tracts found throughout. Common game species include pheasants, doves, deer, cottontail rabbits and turkeys.
