The Fish On…Wisconsin! marketing initiative was created to increase participation in the sport by engaging new and existing anglers. The initiative will include branding, messaging and an increased focus on customer, stakeholder and partner engagement. It will consist of a variety of marketing strategies (targeted marketing with a focus on first-time and sporadic license buyers, women, youth, minorities and urban residents), engaging outdoor recreationists who are not fishing, email marketing, advertising and promoting fishing participation through traditional (TV, radio, print) and nontraditional media and social networking tools. The initiative will work with the industry on special promotions and improved partnerships with Tourism - Visitors Bureaus, Hotel/Motel industry, Chambers of Commerce, etc.

What's in it for you, the angler? Fishing made easier.

Survey reporting

Increased emphasis on timely survey reporting with improved web-based, mobile friendly reporting format. Reporting will use interactive mapping with a good search capability to improve outputs.

Fishing app

A fishing app is being developed for iOS and Android platforms to meet the needs of the angling public (both resident and nonresident - experienced, novice, first-time and prospective anglers). The goal is to make fishing easier by providing critical information that leads to successful fishing and makes more informed and educated anglers.

The app will likely include interactive maps with lakes, regulations, stocking, trout fishing, access – boat landings, shore fishing, regulations, consumption advisory and fish identification information.
