The Spring Turkey Season is over. Letís eat. Whether you got your bird or not, now is the perfect time to try this simply great recipe that anyone can do.
Take a whole half of a wild turkey breast from your successful hunt. Or, just go to your local grocer and buy one. No one has to know. Either way, take the breast and slice it into about 4 equal-sized parts. Slice it across the grain of the meat.
Arrange those 4 parts in a baking dish. In a bowl, mix Ĺ cup of Italian salad dressing, 1/3 cup soy sauce and 2 tablespoons of molasses.
Pour that mixture over the turkey breast. Place plum slices (2 pitted and sliced) on top of the meat. Sprinkle 1 medium onion chopped over and around the turkey. Place the baking dish with ingredients in a 425-degree oven. Bake for about 35 minutes or until fork can be inserted in the meat with ease.
A simple rice or potato side dish goes well with this recipe. And, if you are so inclined to want an adult beverage, a good white wine is a perfect match. Or, I also would suggest an Arnold Palmer. For those who donít know what that is, itís a drink made famous by that guy who used a stick to chase a little round ball around a fancy cow pasture; he got pretty rich doing it, too. An Arnold Palmer is half iced tea and half lemonade.
Growing up down south I also liked iced tea sweetened with TANG. Iím not sure you can find that stuff anymore so maybe just stick with the lemonade.
