Manufacturing sector

Cardinal Glass IG
Cardinal Glass IG (insulated glass) manufactures glass used all over the world.

Manufacturing in Wisconsin is on the rise. Wisconsin was 5th in the nation in terms of job growth in the manufacturing sector in 2014.

In addition, exports of manufactured goods increased to almost $20 billion in 2014. Industrial and electrical machinery made up more than 35 percent of Wisconsin’s total exports while medical and scientific equipment accounted for an additional 10 percent.

The manufacturing sector can be one of the engines that help the state recover from a prolonged period of job loss. Manufacturing is done all over the state, but there are manufacturing hubs in southeastern WI and along the Fox Valley. In these areas, a trained and experienced workforce, well developed infrastructure, supportive technical colleges and a culture of making stuff, create an environment that supports an expanding manufacturing sector.

Perlick manufactures high end components for bars, restaurants and homes.

If you are a manufacturer, contact us to receive help in navigating the various approval processes that are designed to protect our natural resources. We also may be able to help with examples of superior environmental performance in your sector.

Wisconsin is already well established as a national manufacturing leader. By targeting the manufacturing sector with direct DNR support, we stand ready to support businesses looking to expand their presence in the state, and ones that are looking to open a facility in Wisconsin for the first time.
