Leer and Griffen Creek fishery area is located in the Forest Transition Ecological Landscape of Waupaca County. Major land cover types include aspen, red maple, oak/scrub oak, white pine, tamarack, grass, and lowland brush. The opportunity to hunt, trap, hike, snowshoe, cross country ski and participate in other outdoor related activities are offered on this property. A variety of upland habitat types provides homes for both game and non-game species on this property.

Leer Creek has its headwaters in Iola Township. Additional water is added from the outlets of Graham and North Lakes. Griffin Creek is a small tributary which also adds to the flow of Leer Creek. Downstream of Paulson road Leer Creek becomes the South Branch of the Little Wolf River. Numerous springs and seeps add to the flow in the upper reaches of Leer Creek.

Leer and Griffen Creek Fishery Area includes scattered parcels in Waupaca County. T 24, R 11E, sections 5, 7, 8, 9, & 10.
