Eagle Lake covers 520 acres in south-central Racine County. The Eagle Lake Fishery Area consists of a series of adjacent marshlands, an integral part of the whole lake system. Eagle Lake is generally shallow in nature, averaging 7 feet in depth, with 21% of its water area less than three feet in depth. The maximum depth is 12 feet.

As the second largest natural lake in Racine County as well as one of the largest and most accessible in the immediate area, Eagle Lake is popular with both transient and local lake users. The Eagle Lake Fishery Area is situated within 20 miles of the Cities of Racine and Kenosha, 30 miles from downtown Milwaukee, and 70 miles from the City of Chicago.

Waterfowl species present at various times throughout the year include mallard, blue-winged teal, wood duck, widgeon, scaup, ring-necked duck, red head, canvasback, goldeneye, Canada goose, gadwall, shoveler, and coot. The area also serves as a nesting and feeding location for shorebirds during spring and fall migrations. The area also has a resident pheasant population.

Nearby is Eagle Lake County Park [exit DNR].

Location/Directions

The Eagle Lake Fishery Fishery Area is located between Burlington and Union Grove north of State Hwy 11 in Racine County. There are several boat ramps on the lake. The parking lot is on the north side of the Lake off Church Street.
