The Department of Natural Resources will be implementing a process to develop an inland trout management plan to guide trout management over the next decade. The plan would address trout habitat, stocking, and other management issues in Wisconsin.

The Inland Trout Management Plan, 2020-2029 [PDF] outlines the goals and strategies for the vision "to provide outstanding trout populations and cold-water resources as part of a healthy ecosystem that provides enjoyment for people of all ages and backgrounds". You now have the opportunity to review and comment on the draft version of this first inland trout management plan for Wisconsin. The plan was drafted in cooperation with a large stakeholder team. It is available for public comment until July 5, 2019.

Public meetings on draft trout management plan- May 29-June 5, 2019

The public will have an opportunity to review and comment on a draft statewide Inland Trout Management Plan at a series of upcoming meetings.

The meetings will be held:
