The Remediation and Redevelopment (RR) Program oversees the investigation and cleanup of environmental contamination and the redevelopment of contaminated properties. Our staff provide a comprehensive, streamlined program that consolidates state and federal cleanups into one program (e.g., hazardous waste cleanup, underground storage tank investigation & cleanup, spill response, state-funded cleanups and brownfields).

RiverHeath is a 16-acre property located on the Fox River in Appleton. After a century of industrial use, it is now cleaned up and home to a new commercial and residential center. Through the developer’s persistence and assistance from state and local partners this project has been a success with future phases to follow.
