By Central Office November 21, 2017

Contact(s): Kevin Olson, DNR environmental review specialist, 608-266-9955

ALBANY, Wis.- The Village of Albany has applied to the Safe Drinking Water Loan Program for funding to address deficiencies in its public drinking water system. The funding will be used for projects that will replace undersized water mains at various locations in the village's distribution system.

This type of project typically does not involve significant adverse environmental effects, and the department has made a preliminary determination that no further environmental analysis is needed before proceeding with funding the projects.

The department is soliciting public comments by Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2017, regarding this decision and potential impact of these projects. Written or verbal comments are encouraged. Provide comments to Kevin Olson, Community Financial Assistance, Department of Natural Resources, CF/2, 101 S Webster St. PO Box 7921, Madison WI 53707. Mr. Olson can be reached by phone at 608- 266-9955, or email at

Based on the comments received, the department may prepare an environmental analysis before proceeding with the funding process. The analysis would summarize the department's consideration of the impacts of the project and reasonable alternatives.
