NEENAH, Wis. - The public has an opportunity to comment on an application from Kimberly-Clark's Kimtech facility for Wisconsin's Green Tier program. The application covers Kimtech's Neenah facility, located in Winnebago County, and is the fourth Kimberly-Clark facility to apply to Green Tier.

The Kimtech facility provides machinery and equipment solutions worldwide for Kimberly-Clark Corporation, solutions that are utilized in the manufacture of some of its well-known global brands such as Kleenex, Scott, Huggies, Pull-Ups, Kotex, Poise and Depend.

Kimtech is applying for Tier 1 of the Green Tier program, which is designed to encourage, recognize and reward companies that are committed to superior environmental performance. Green Tier encourages businesses to voluntarily collaborate with the Department of Natural Resources. Applicants must have a good environmental record as well as implement an Environmental Management System, which will be used to set goals, assess progress and identify improvements.

Kimberly-Clark's Corporate Vision Program is used as a baseline for development of environmental objectives and targets for all facilities and includes identifying areas of continual improvements. Kimtech developed an EMS in January of 2017 and implementation is currently in process. Kimtech's Neenah facility has identified these environmental performance goals for 2017:

Kimberly-Clark is a global company with more than 42,500 employees working at manufacturing facilities in 37 countries. If accepted into the program, Kimtech will join three other Kimberly-Clark facilities in Green Tier, including Neenah Cold Spring, Neenah Nonwovens and the Kimberly-Clark Experimental Mill.

The DNR will accept public comments on Kimberly-Clark's Kimtech Green Tier application through July 27, 2017. Comments may be directed to Laurel Sukup, Wisconsin DNR, OB/7, PO BOX 7921, Madison, WI 53707, by email to Laurel.Sukup@Wisconsin.Gov, or by calling 608-267-6817.
