NATURAL RESOURCES BOARD TO MEET OCTOBER 28 IN MADISON

MADISON - Request to hold public hearings on two separate changes to the Wisconsin Pollutant Discharge Elimination System permit program regulating wastewater discharges and adoption of a beaver management plan are among the items that the state Natural Resources Board will consider when it meets Oct 28 in Madison.
The meeting will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 28, in Room G09, State Natural Resources Building (GEF 2), 101 South Webster St., Madison.
Topics on the business meeting agenda include:
- A request for the Department of Natural Resources to hold public hearings on proposed rules affecting chapter NR 106 related to policies and procedures related to the calculation of water quality based effluent limitations for the WPDES permit program regulating wastewater discharges and on proposed rules affecting chapters NR 106, 205, and 212 relating to the administration of the WPDES permit program.
- A request to approve the Wisconsin Beaver Management Plan for 2015 - 2025 intended to maintain stable beaver populations in suitable habitats throughout Wisconsin, providing trapping and viewing recreation, and limiting human-beaver conflicts and impacts to resources.
- A request to approve a master plan for the Woodboro Lakes Wildlife Area, a forested 3,000-acre property located approximately 10 miles west of Rhinelander, that includes the establishment of an all-terrain vehicle trail across a portion of the property.
