ALMA, Wis. - The public has an opportunity to comment on an application for Wisconsin's Green Tier program by Badger Mining Corporation's - Alma Center Plant, located in Jackson County.
Badger Mining, a family-owned company that manufactures industrial sand products, is applying for Tier 1 of the Green Tier program, which is designed to encourage and recognize companies that are committed to superior environmental performance.
To be accepted into the program, applicants must first have a good environmental record. The applicant then must also document that they have or are committed to implementing an Environmental Management System.

Badger Mining also has Wisconsin operations in Fairwater, Taylor, Berlin and Merrillan.
The DNR will accept public comments on Badger Mining - Alma Center Plant's Green Tier application through September 17, 2015. Comments may be directed to Roberta Walls, Wisconsin DNR, 3550 Mormon Coulee Rd, La Crosse, WI 54601, or by email to Roberta.walls@wisconsin.gov or by calling 608-785-9272.
