Aquatic Plant Research
Once an invasive species has become established in a lake, it is important to manage the lake effectively. Providing information on control options to lake residents and lake managers helps guide appropriate management actions.
DNR Science Services provided a review of the management options available for aquatic plants, including the advantages and drawbacks of each, in order to provide a resource for lake associations considering control options for aquatic plants on their lakes. Twenty-seven different management options are described in the document, which cover biological, chemical, manual, mechanized, and physical removal techniques.
