Aquatic Plant Research
DNR Science Services researchers are studying the use of the herbicide 2,4-D on small-scale treatment areas to determine its efficacy to control Eurasian watermilfoil and any potential impacts to the native plant community.
DNR Science Services are creating a factsheet to summarize current scientific data and understanding of small-scale chemical management of Eurasian watermilfoil and curly-leaf pondweed. This factsheet provides regional managers, statewide policy makers, and concerned citizens with science-based information regarding small-scale herbicide treatments for control of non-native aquatic invasive plants. Factsheets are used internally and by multiple statewide and national organizations.
