Aquatic Plant Research Continued Research on Large Scale 2,4-D Treatments

DNR Science Services have conducted multiple case studies examining the efficacy, selectivity, and longevity of utilizing early-season low-dose 2,4-D treatments on a lake-wide scale across multiple lakes in Wisconsin. Although target species control has been achieved with some of these low-dose applications, additional monitoring and field studies are needed due to variation in herbicide persistence, observations of reduced control in some hybrid genotypes, and negative impacts to certain native plants.
