Detailed information: The U.S. EPA authorized the Assistance for Small and Disadvantaged Communities Drinking Water Grant program in 2019, under the Water Infrastructure Improvements for the Nation (WIIN) Act. This grant program was designed to assist small public water systems in complying with Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA) requirements. The Wisconsin DNR has been appropriated grant monies to provide financial assistance to any qualifying other-than-municipal community and not-for-profit non-transient non-community water systems for this purpose. Grants for eligible projects will be awarded at 55% of project cost (systems must provide 45% match). To assist eligible public water systems in answering questions and/or completing applications, the DNR is holding a number of open houses throughout the state to discuss the grant program, eligible water systems and eligible projects. Below is a list of open house locations, dates and times, along with the local contact information. Additional open houses will be held March 2 in Oshkosh, March 3 in Eau Claire and March 4 in Fitchburg.
