Work Play Earth Day - Celebrate EARTH DAY by volunteering at your State Parks!

Time: 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Activities: Outdoor activity, Volunteer opportunity, Work day, Work Play Earth Day
Location: Roche-A-Cri SP

Roche-A-Cri State Park will be participating in the state-wide event with support from the Friends of Roche-A-Cri State Park. Volunteers are being sought to clear sticks and leaves from campsites and day use areas and pick up litter. Volunteers should wear work shoes/boots, long pants, gloves and bring shovels, leaf blowers and rakes if they have them. Individual and group efforts are welcome. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Please meet at the park office for assignments. Lunch will be provided by the friends group. Park admission is free for those volunteering. Please pre-register by April 29. For more information or to register as a volunteer, please call 608-565-2789.

Playing with Shakespeare: Children's Workshop

The Summit Players are a traveling theatre company who present short, fun, accessible and free Shakespeare workshops and performances to audiences around the state. Prior to the performance, company members will lead a 45-minute children's workshop where you can play games, work with text, and explore the natural world through the lens of Shakespeare's words. Families are welcome! 1 p.m. workshop; 2:30 p.m. performance. Meet at the picnic shelter.

Fall Festival

Time: 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Join the Friends of Roche-A-Cri for a day of fall fun at the park! There will family-friendly games, crafts for kids, s'mores by the campfire, and two horse drawn hay rides. Meet at the park office parking lot for the hay rides. Don't forget to take a walk down the trails to see the beautiful fall colors, or to take the stairs to the top of the mound for an even better view! The friend's group will provide lunch and caramel apple slices. Free park admission today. The park is still open for camping this weekend and camping rates apply. Come join us for the Fall Festival!
