Walk/Snowshoe on Sentinel Trail

Time: 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.
Activities: Hike, Tree study, Walk
Location: Peninsula SP

Meet at Sentinel trailhead at Eagle Tower (tower dismantled in 2016) parking lot. Join the naturalist for an easy, 0.5-mile walk along part of Sentinel Trail. Identify trees by bark, bud and leafy needle. Learn a bit of Peninsula history, too. Weather permitting, provide your own snowshoes.

Considered Wisconsin's most complete park, Peninsula offers 468 campsites, three group camps, a summer theater, an 18-hole golf course, sand beach, bike trails, a lighthouse and eight miles of Door County shoreline. The rollicking waves that skip towards Peninsula's sky high bluffs are part of the Niagara Escarpment.

Candlelight Ski and Hike

Time: 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Activities: Candlelight events, Cross country ski, Hike, Outdoor activity
Location: Peninsula SP

Enjoy a 1-mile loop through forest and meadow with hundreds of candles lining the trail. Following the ski or hike, participants can enjoy a bonfire with refreshments in the warming shelter. Co-sponsored by the Friends of Peninsula State Park. Pets are not allowed at the event. Event will be cancelled if weather is severe. A state park vehicle admission sticker is required and can be purchased at the park headquarters or self-registration station. A trail pass is not required for this event. Enter at Highland Road, 1 mile north of Fish Creek at Hwy. 42 and County Road A. Park in Lot 5. Get Directions.
