Wildflower Walk

The Rib Mountain State Park native Wisconsin wildflower garden will be one of five gardens featured in the North Central Wisconsin Master Gardner's Association 16th annual Garden Walk. Tickets for the walk are $10 and cab be purchased from the Marathon County UW-Extension Office, 212 River Drive, Suite 3, Wausau. For more information visit The walk will also be held on July 8 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. A park daily or annual admission sticker is also required to enter the park.


Rib Mountain SP information

This billion-year-old hill is one of the oldest geological formations on earth. Rib Mountain State Park is a premier day-use facility with picnicking, hiking trails and a reservable amphitheater. The top of the 60-foot observation tower offers spectacular views of the Wausau area and Wisconsin River. Granite Peak Ski Area is on the north face of the mountain and offers downhill skiing and snowboarding during winter.
