Saw-Whet Owl Banding

Location: Sandhill Wildlife Area

Accompany researchers and UW-Stevens Point students during Wisconsin's tiniest owl's migration. See how birds are captured, how biological information is collected, and how individual owls are identified. $15 fee, limit 15 people, ages 12+. Register by Oct. 10. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.


Sandhill Wildlife Area information

The 9,150-acre State Wildlife Area was named for a series of gently rolling sandy ridges crisscrossing the property. Sandhill Wildlife Area lies within the bed of ancient Glacial Lake Wisconsin - an expansive region of flat, marshy land interspersed with forests covering parts of seven counties in central Wisconsin.
