Celebrate Salmon at Wild Rose Fish Hatchery Open House

Celebrate the last weekend of the season open to visitors with the Salmon Migration Mystery, a day of fun, hands-on activities that help answer the question, "Why do salmon and trout migrate from Lake Michigan to streams in fall?" Be a salmon in the migration maze; look into microscopic life; learn fly tying and fly casting, kids bass casting, Gyotaku fish printing and more! Plus check out two aquariums and engage in interactive exhibits in the Education Center, tour the beautiful grounds and see the show pond filled with large Lake Michigan trout and salmon. Free. Wild Rose Hatchery Education Center information

You can also take a peek at hatchery production from the coldwater (trout and salmon) observation room, then stroll down to the historic village where Wild Rose first began and fish still swim in the raceways.
