Snake, Rattle, & Roll

78 days old

Time: 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Activities: Amphibian/reptile study, Story time
Location: Amnicon Falls SP

This is Emily's most popular program. It focuses on native reptiles with an emphasis on snakes. The audience will learn about salamanders (the one amphibian Emily brings), turtles, snakes, and meet several of the species that call Minnesota and Wisconsin home. Watch as your younger audience members transform into hognose snakes displaying their impressive defense mechanism: rolling onto their back to play dead! Emily brings a tiger salamander, 1-2 native turtles, 3-4 native snakes, and 2-4 exotic reptiles. This program is great for all ages, especially younger kiddos. Amnicon Falls SP information

Amnicon Falls State Park features a series of delightful waterfalls and rapids along the Amnicon River. You can view them from a covered foot bridge or trails along the river, or-if you're sure-footed-from the rocky shore of the river. The park is a place to picnic, camp, walk in the woods, and learn about the Douglas Fault, the geological formation that created the falls.
