Work Play Earth Day - Celebrate EARTH DAY by volunteering at your State Parks!

Location: Harrington Beach SP

Harrington Beach State Park will be participating in the state-wide event with support from the Friends of Harrington Beach. Volunteers are being sought to plant trees, clear brush from roadways & campsites, clear gravel from roads and parking lots and pick up litter. Volunteers should wear work shoes/boots, long pants, gloves and bring shovels, rakes and wheelbarrows if they have them. Individual and group efforts are welcome. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Please meet at the Ansay Welcome Center for group assignments. Noon refreshments will be provided. Park admission is free for those volunteering. Pre-registration is not required for individuals; however, we would appreciate having large groups contact us prior to April 18. Harrington Beach SP information

Harrington Beach State Park has more than a mile of beach along Lake Michigan. This 715-acre park also features a white cedar and hardwood swamp, old field grasslands with restored wetland ponds and a scenic limestone quarry lake. Camp, sunbathe, picnic, hike, bird watch, fish or practice astronomy. An observatory is open to the public for monthly viewings.
