Wolf Lake Trail Run/Walk

Enjoy a beautiful 5K or 10K run or a 1 mile walk to raise funds for the park. Raffles, homemade bakery and pottery mug awards. 

Fee prior to Sept. 10 is $30/adult, $18 for youth ages 14 and younger. Call 337-532-7509 or email jmdickinson6929@icloud.com for more information. Download a registration from the Bong Naturalist Association website [exit DNR]. 

No park entrance fees for participants. Meet at the beach (please remember that pets are not allowed at the beach). Packet pick up 8-9:15 a.m. Run starts at 9:30 a.m.

Richard Bong SRA information

Once designated to be a jet fighter base, Richard Bong State Recreation Area is fittingly named after Major Richard I. Bong, a Poplar, WI native who was America's leading air ace during World War II. The air base was abandoned three days before concrete was to be poured for a 12,500-foot runway. Local citizens had the foresight to protect this open space for future generations.

Fall Color Weekend

Come enjoy the beautiful fall colors at Governor Thompson State Park the weekend of Sept. 29-30. You can go for a hike on our best marked "Color Trail" and when you're done, enjoy snacks and refreshments in the Visitor's Center. Visitors may also want to take the short drive into Crivitz for the Crivitz Harvest Fest on Sept. 29 at the Crivitz High School.

Governor Thompson SP information

Governor Thompson State Park was established in 2000, the Wisconsin State Park System's centennial year. With more than 2,800 acres of woods, a family campground, picnic area on Woods Lake, skiing and hiking trails, and six miles of shoreline on the Caldron Falls Flowage, visitors will find an atmosphere that is perfect for solitude, reflection, and recreation.

Kettle Moraine SF - Southern Unit information

More than 22,000 acres of glacial hills, kettles, lakes, prairie restoration sites, pine woods and hardwood forests can be found in the Southern Unit, making this a popular area for a wide variety of visitors. The Forest is 30 miles long, extending from the village of Dousman, almost to the city of Whitewater. The forest headquarters is 3 miles west of the village of Eagle on State Highway 59.

Explore the Naturalist Cabin Cool Pelts

Location: Copper Falls SP

Drop in to check out cool pelts, natural items, kids' games, tracks, and critters, or try your hand at our Frisbee tree ID game. Our naturalist will also be on hand to share information on the park's flora and fauna or lead activities. The naturalist cabin is located just south of the main parking lot.

Copper Falls SP information

Ancient lava flows, deep gorges, and spectacular waterfalls make Copper Falls one of Wisconsin's most scenic parks. Log buildings built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s add to the park's charm. There is plenty to do; hiking, bicycling, picnicking, fishing and swimming. The North Country National Scenic Trail passes through Copper Falls State Park.

Interstate SP information

Interstate is Wisconsin's oldest state park, established in 1900. Located along the picturesque St. Croix National Scenic Riverway, the park provides scenic views of the river and the steep-sided gorge known as the Dalles of the St. Croix. The Ice Age Interpretive Center features a film, photographs, murals and information
