Guided Kayak Tour

Go on a kayak adventure at Devil's Lake! Guides will take you on a 2-hour tour of the lake exploring the geology, history and lake's wildlife. Space is limited, so you'll need to preregister. If you need to rent a kayak, please let us know when you register. The rental fee is $25 for a single kayak and $45 for a double. To register, please contact the Nature Center at (608) 356-8301 ext. 140. This program is best for adults and children 10 and older. Meet at the Chateau (North Shore Concessions).

Animals Entrusted in our Care

Meet Jerry Theys to learn about the important work of the rehabilitators at Wildlife of Wisconsin. Meet a few patients at their facility and learn why they needed help. Enjoy a PowerPoint presentation, hear stories of patients, a skit and even play a guessing game. Three or four live animals will be in attendance. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Meet at Sanderling Nature Center; no pets allowed.

Kohler-Andrae SP information

Kohler-Andrae State Park in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, is the home of majestic sand dunes, miles of golden beach, shimmering blue Lake Michigan water, whispering pines, an abundance of wildlife, and recreational activities for everyone. Kohler-Andrae State Park is one of the last natural preserves along the Lake Michigan shore, and is open for everyone to explore and enjoy.

Music in the Park: Tim Southwick Johnson

Join the Friends of Mirror Lake as they bring Tim Southwick Johnson to the outdoor amphitheater stage as part of the Music in the Park summer concert series. Tim Southwick Johnson is an accomplished performer on acoustic guitar, mandolin, tenor guitar, ukulele and harmonica. His original songs run the gamut from fun story songs to romping fingerstyle instrumentals. Tim even brings the songwriting process to the stage composing "on the fly". Event is free. A valid park vehicle sticker is required to enter the park. Bring your own chairs or sit on our rock seating. Bug spray suggested.

Mirror Lake SP information

This park is named for its centerpiece, a lake which often is so Locationcalm that not a ripple marks its surface. The lake reflects a wooded shoreline with cliffs up to 50 feet high, a swimming beach, and wetlands that are home to a variety of wildlife. The park's 2,200 acres includes several picnic areas, wooded campsites, summer rentals, and a cabin for people with disabilities.

Oleson Cabin Bat Count

Kettle Moraine SF - Southern Unit information

More than 22,000 acres of glacial hills, kettles, lakes, prairie restoration sites, pine woods and hardwood forests can be found in the Southern Unit, making this a popular area for a wide variety of visitors. The Forest is 30 miles long, extending from the village of Dousman, almost to the city of Whitewater. The forest headquarters is 3 miles west of the village of Eagle on State Highway 59.

Wisconsin Bat Monitoring State Wide Bat Count

Help our state bats by participating in this Citizen Science program. Our hibernating bats are in great danger of being wiped out because of white-nose syndrome (WNS), a white, powdery fungus on the muzzle of infected bats that causes die offs of multiple species of bats in infected hibernation sites. This state wide survey is an important tool to help monitor the number of bats that have been affected by WNS. No experience is necessary, just a willingness to help. We will meet at the Nature Center, Lot 1, for brief instruction. Rain date: July 21, same time.

Whooo's Awake? Owl Prowl Summer Saturday Evening Event

The Kettle Moraine Northern Unit is comprised of about 30,000 acres stretching 30 miles across Sheboygan, Fond du Lac and Washington Counties. The UitP session begins with a 20-30 minute talk and slide presentation covering a broad view of astronomy and recent astronomical news. Following the presentation, a telescope is set up to view whatever astronomical objects are available. Question and answer period follows around the telescope.

High Cliff SP information

High Cliff State Park is the only state-owned recreational area on Lake Winnebago, Wisconsin's largest lake. The park gets its name from the limestone cliff of the Niagara Escarpment, which parallels the eastern shore of Lake Winnebago. The magnificent 12-foot statue of Winnebago Indian Chief Red Bird, standing high on a huge granite rock, overlooks the lake and is a popular destination in the park.

Scuppernong Springs Stream Ecology Hike
