Sandhill Wildlife Area information

The 9,150-acre State Wildlife Area was named for a series of gently rolling sandy ridges crisscrossing the property. Sandhill Wildlife Area lies within the bed of ancient Glacial Lake Wisconsin - an expansive region of flat, marshy land interspersed with forests covering parts of seven counties in central Wisconsin.

Candlelight Halloween Hike

Join us for lots of Halloween fun! There's a lot to do at this annual event sponsored by the Friends of Devil's Lake. You can go on a 1-mile torch lit hike; show off your costume by the campfire while roasting a marshmallow or two and listen to the songs of Campfire Kevin; enjoy some tasty treats sold by the Friends group; and find out about spiders! You can even make some spider crafts to take home with you. The event is held at Chateau (North Shore Concessions).

Devil's Lake SP information

Founded in 1911, Devil's Lake is the third oldest state park in Wisconsin, the largest, and the most visited. Devil's Lake offers magnificent views from 500-foot quartzite bluffs overlooking a 360-acre lake. Enjoy lakeshore picnic areas, sandy swimming beaches, 29 miles of hiking trails, or ease into the backcountry solitude. Devil's Lake is a beautiful year-round park with an intriguing natural history along the 1,000-mile Ice Age National Scenic Trail.

Silent Hunters Night Hike

Kettle Moraine SF - Pike Lake Unit information

The Pike Lake Unit of the Kettle Moraine State Forest is in the middle of the Kettle Moraine, a strip of glacial landforms which extends through southeastern Wisconsin to Lake Winnebago. The forest is named after the 522-acre, spring-fed kettle: Pike Lake. Powder Hill, a large glacial kame, provides the opportunity for a great hike and view. Visitors can enjoy camping, swimming, hiking, fishing, picnicking, and much more within the forest.

Starsplitters Astronomy Program: Star Party

Bring a chair or blanket. Bring binoculars. Bring telescopes. We have cement pads for scopes (some have electricity). We will try to help you with your equipment if you have questions. Those with telescopes or equipment can drive down to the building for loading and unloading. If you are from the area and would like to become a member, this is a great time to come! Everyone is welcome. Donations are appreciated.

Wyalusing SP information

At Wyalusing State Park, camp 500 feet above the confluence of the Wisconsin and Mississippi rivers. One of Wisconsin's oldest state parks, Wyalusing features family and group camps, hiking trails, a canoe trail, Native American burial mounds, bird watching, fishing, boating, bicycling, and picnicking near several scenic overlooks of the river valleys below.

Explore the historic Paradise Springs Nature Trail while viewing the last of the fall colors. This paved trail was designed for wheelchairs and strollers. About 0.5 miles, no hills. Meet at the Paradise Springs Nature Trail at W374 S8640 County Rd N, Eagle WI 53119. Valid State Park sticker required.

Kettle Moraine SF - Southern Unit information

More than 22,000 acres of glacial hills, kettles, lakes, prairie restoration sites, pine woods and hardwood forests can be found in the Southern Unit, making this a popular area for a wide variety of visitors. The Forest is 30 miles long, extending from the village of Dousman, almost to the city of Whitewater. The forest headquarters is 3 miles west of the village of Eagle on State Highway 59.
