The DNR holds many meetings that are open to the public. Unlike public hearings, comments and participation at these meetings are not usually "on the record."

Detailed information: The Natural Resources Board will consider conditionally approving the public hearing notice for proposed rules affecting NR chapters 10 and 45 related to hunting, trapping, and target shooting for the Spring Rules Hearings; at approximately 3:30 p.m. the board may convene in closed session to confer with legal counsel regarding potential litigation issues arising out of the board's pending decision to approve emergency rules to enable the Lake Superior Fishing Agreement; immediately following the board will host a meet and greet with department staff for one hour; at approximately 6 p.m. the board will gather for dinner at Graze, 1 South Pinckney St., Madison. No board business will be discussed at the meet and greet or dinner. The regular board meeting will reconvene at 8:30 a.m. Jan. 23, 2019.

Detailed information: The Natural Resources Board will consider a request to approve 2019 bear harvest totals; a request to approve fisheries and wildlife management recommendations for the Spring Rules Hearings; consider a request to approve hearings for proposed rules relating to septage hauling, assessment and remediation of contaminated sediments, and for establishing the 2019 waterfowl season framework; and other items.  The board will meet beginning at 2 p.m. Jan. 22, 2019 in the same location. That meeting may include a closed session and will be followed by a meet and greet with department staff and dinner at a nearby restaurant.

Results from the survey will be presented at these meetings. The meeting will include a question and answer session, with an opportunity to voice concerns and learn more about the sturgeon management program. Additional meetings will be held Jan. 29 in Chilton and Jan. 31 in Menasha.
