Detailed information: The Natural Resources Board will: consider a request for approval of antlerless permit levels and a deer hunting season framework for 2018; consider a request for proposed emergency rulemaking affecting Chapters NR 10 and 16 related to deer carcass transportation, deer farm fencing, and chronic wasting disease; consider proposed rules affecting chapter NR 10  and 45 related to minor revisions of rules for wildlife management, hunting opportunities for the physically disabled, and deer management unit boundaries; and other orders of business. At approximately 10:45 a.m. on May 23, the board may convene in closed session under the authority of s. 19.85(1)(e) Wisconsin Statutes to discuss the department's competitive bargaining and negotiation position with respect to a potential real estate transaction in Southeast Wisconsin. On Tuesday, May 22, 2018, the board will have an informal dinner meeting with the Wisconsin Conservation Congress District Leadership Council at approximately 5:30 p.m. at Great Dane Pub, 123 E. Doty St., Madison.

Detailed information: The draft Northern Lake Michigan Coastal Ecological Landscape master plan establishes the level and type of resource management and public use permitted on these department-managed properties. State-owned lands covered by this master plan include state parks--five on the Door Peninsula--as well as State Natural Areas and numerous wildlife and fisheries areas. The state parks covered by this plan include Rock Island, Newport, Peninsula, Whitefish Dunes, Potawatomi, Grand Traverse Island and Copper Culture Mounds. An additional meeting will be held May 30 in Peshtigo. The public review and comment period for the draft regional plan is open through June 12, 2018.

Detailed information: DNR staff and representatives of Lakeshore Natural Resource Partnership and the city of Manitowoc will discuss a request made by LNRP and the city to dispose of sediments to be dredged from the Little Manitowoc River for restoration purposes. They propose to dispose of the material at the City of Manitowoc's Gravel Pit located at 3130 Hecker Road, Manitowoc. The material will be used to widen a berm currently used as a shooting barrier for Manitowoc Police Department training. The purpose of the meeting is to solicit public comment and answer questions on the proposal. There will be a brief introduction and explanation of the project by DNR, LNRP and City representatives. The meeting will then be opened up for questions and comments. All public comments received during the meeting will be considered by DNR when making a decision on the proposal.

Detailed information: Pursuant to 281.36(3g)(g), Wis. Stats., the Department of Natural Resources will hold a public informational hearing on the reissuance of a statewide general permit for wetland discharges that are a part of development for recreational purposes. The statewide general permit is valid for 5 years and will allow applicants to apply for coverage under the permit for discharges of dredged or fill material into a wetland up to 10,000 square feet (0.23 acres) for purposes of recreational development if the impact meets all of the eligibility criteria and conditions of the general permit. Information about the Department's individual and general permit process can be found on the DNR website. . For more information or to submit written comments on the general permit via U.
