Comments: The following information, including activities conducted outside of the 07/01/2014 through 12/31/2014 reporting period, is provided to present a complete picture of the status as of today's entry. CRA provided an update to Shawn Wenzel via email on June 24, 2014 indicating that CRA and GM were still working on the Access Agreement. Reporting Period 08/19/2014 – CRA emailed Shawn Wenzel to notify him that CRA, GM, and Alliant Energy were close to execution of an Access Agreement and once complete, the remaining field activities would be scheduled. 08/21/2014 - The Access Agreement with Alliant Energy was finalized and CRA scheduled the remaining portion of the Revised SOW. 09/03/2014 – 09/04/2014 - CRA Private and public utility locates were conducted at the Site 09/08/2014 – 09/12/2014 –13 soil borings were advanced on Site and two soil borings off Site on the northern adjacent property (Alliant Energy). Soil samples were collected concurrently by CRA. Two wells were also installed on the northern adjacent property. 09/15/2014 – Groundwater elevations were measured at all existing and newly installed monitoring wells. 09/15/2014 – 09/19/2014 – A second groundwater sampling event was conducted which included the newly installed wells, select sentinel wells, and select Site wells based on ES exceedances for total chromium during the June 2014 sampling event. 09/25/2014 – Newly installed monitoring wells and soil borings were surveyed. 10/14/2014 – Shawn Wenzel emailed CRA requesting additional information for the Site related to historical use of the Site and the presence of any tunnels historically. Additionally, Shawn asked if the Access Agreement was completed and the off-Site wells were installed. CRA provided a summary of the tunnels present at the Site and historical use of the Site and referenced the draft Site Investigation Work Plan for additional information. CRA also indicated that the Access Agreement was completed and the work was conducted in September. 10/20/2014 – Data collected during the Site Investigation was validated. 10/31/2014 – The analytical results for the groundwater and soil samples collected from the northern adjacent property (Alliant Energy) were submitted to the property owner/contact and Shawn Wenzel via email. A hard copy was also sent for arrival on Monday November 3, 2014. 12/4/2014 – MW-5D was sampled for speciated chromium. Monitoring well MW-5S was inadvertently sampled instead of monitoring well MW-5D during the September event. Investigative-derived wastes (IDW) (e.g., soil cuttings, purge and development water, etc) were transported off-Site as Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) non hazardous waste by Waste Management on Thursday, December 4, 2014. The IDW was transported to Waste Management’s Deer Track Park Landfill located at N6756 Waldman Lane, Watertown, Wisconsin. 12/17/2014 – The Site Investigation Report was submitted to Shawn Wenzel. The Site Investigation Report presented the results of the 2014 field activities and provided recommendations for additional sampling activities. Reporting Period Ends On January 7, 2015, CRA received an email from Wendy Weihemuller of the WDNR indicating the Site Investigation Report and associated fee were received by the WDNR and review of the submittal would be completed within 60 days. If a response was not received, Shawn Wenzel could be contacted for a status update.
