On January 17, 2019, Miller Compressing Company was granted a permit by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to remove materials from and place a structure (Remedial Aggregate Cap and Voluntary Betterment) on the bed of the Burnham Canal. This permit was replaced by a permit issued on March 12, 2019, which included a revised Water Quality Certification.
Hard and electronic copies of the Revised Cap Operations, Maintenance, and Monitoring Plan and the Post-Closure Long-Term Care Plan were submitted to WDNR on behalf of Miller Compressing Company by April 27, 2019.
Contracts and agreements associated with remedial action and betterment construction are currently being negotiated.
