Detailed information: Lower Green Bay-Fox River Area of Concern stakeholders group will meet to discuss and provide input on estimated reductions anticipated if a select group of permanent agricultural best management practices were implemented in the Lower Fox River Watershed and to provide input on the Eutrophication or Undesirable Algae beneficial use impairment removal target in the AOC. The input provided by this work group will feed into future AOC stakeholder discussions on how to move forward with addressing the Eutrophication or Undesirable Algae beneficial use impairment in the AOC. Detailed information: Sturgeon Bay Utilities primarily accepts dredged material from Sturgeon Bay and other local waterways. The primary users of the disposal facility include the US Army Corps of Engineers, the US Coast Guard and private property owners. The purpose of the meeting is to solicit public comment and answer questions on the proposal. There will be a brief introduction and explanation of the project by DNR and SBU representatives. The meeting will then be opened up for questions and comments. All public comments received during the meeting will be considered by DNR in its decision. The DNR's Remediation and Redevelopment (RR) Program has assembled a PFAS Technical Advisory Group to discuss PFAS-related concerns that are specific to the assessment and cleanup of environmental contamination. The goal of the group is to examine the what, where, when and how of PFAS investigation and remediation by sharing concerns, identifying current and proposed practices and strategizing on issues requiring solutions. Please check the Group's webpage prior to the meeting for an agenda and any other meeting materials.

The Remediation and Redevelopment (RR) Program will host a meeting to provide information and seek input on the development of revisions to select provisions of chs. NR 700-799, Wis. Adm. Code, Environmental Protection - Investigation and Remediation of Environmental Contamination.

This meeting is part of a series of meetings that the RR Program is hosting as it develops proposed rule revisions. The June 4 meeting will include:

  • a white paper regarding rule revisions relating to emerging contaminants;
  • a white paper regarding proposed revisions relating to remedy selection cross-references;
  • a white paper for rule revisions relating to notification and closure;
  • a first draft of rule revisions relating to soil standards; and
  • a second draft of rule revisions relating to soil management
