Detailed information: In October 2019, the Natural Resources Board approved the department's recommendation to develop a revision to the Rib Mountain State Park master plan. The business that operates the ski area, Granite Peak Ski Corporation, has requested an expansion of the area leased for downhill skiing. In revising the master plan, the department will undertake a holistic evaluation of the full range of recreational and habitat opportunities at Rib Mountain to ensure that the park, including the ski area, continues to support the ecological, social, and economic needs of the area.The DNR will host a "kick-off" open house meeting to present information about the planning process, the park and the broader region, and to gather initial public input.A brief presentation will take place at 6 p.m.

Detailed information: The Remediation and Redevelopment Program organized the PECFA Focus Group in 2015. The groups consist of PECFA agents and consultants, industry representatives, petroleum retailers and others. It was formed to gain insight into the cleanup challenges of the retail/wholesale petroleum industry and to cooperatively develop strategies to keep all parties informed of the PECFA program, the changes that periodically occur and the eventual end of the program in the summer of 2020.Typical agenda topics include updates on proposed rules, changes in guidance and procedures and questions and comments from the consultants. Detailed information: This is the first of a series of rule development meetings that the DNR will host as it develops proposed rule revisions affecting surface water, groundwater and drinking water. These meetings are intended to provide information and seek input on the development of revisions to select provisions of the Wisconsin Administrative Code. Tentative agenda topics include an overview of the administrative rules process, DNR's rulemaking authority, and a summary of each rule. The final agenda and any other materials will be available on the NR105, NR140, and NR809 rule pages in advance of the meetings. Detailed information: The Brownfields Study Group was created in 1998 at the direction of the Governor and State Legislature, to evaluate Wisconsin's current brownfields initiatives and recommend changes, as well as propose additional incentives for the cleanup and reuse of abandoned or underused properties with real or perceived contamination. The Study Group continues to drive important brownfields policy changes in Wisconsin.
