Wisconsin PFAS Action Council (WisPAC) Meeting

Detailed information:

Executive Order #40 directed the Wisconsin DNR to create the PFAS Coordinating Council (now known as the Wisconsin PFAS Action Council or WisPAC) in partnership with other state agencies. WisPAC is developing and coordinating statewide initiatives to address growing public health and environmental concerns regarding certain PFAS substances. A critical step is the development of a statewide PFAS Action Plan.

The Wisconsin PFAS Action Council (WisPAC) will meet via Zoom. The Zoom meeting link and other meeting materials will be available on the WisPAC webpage and on the PFAS Action Plan page above.

Discussion items include agency updates, a revised WisPAC timeline and a presentation of materials for review prior to the next WisPAC meeting in July.

Detailed information: The purpose of this meeting is to make recommendations to the NR 151 rule modification and develop a targeted performance standard to abate nitrate pollution in areas of the state with highly permeable soils which are susceptible to groundwater contamination (sensitive areas) for the purpose of achieving compliance with the nitrate groundwater standards. The rule revisions will define sensitive areas in the state and the performance standards needed to protect surface and groundwater quality in these areas.
