America's Fire Fighting Bear to Visit Peninsula State Park

1282 days old

Time: 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Activities: Children's program, Forestry
Location: Peninsula SP

Smokey stops by the Nature Center and kids will hear the true story of Smokey from the park naturalist, just before he arrives. Those who can recite - ONLY YOU CAN PREVENT WILD FIRES - will receive Smokey Bear prizes (while supplies last). While you're at the Nature Center, why not hike the half-mile, family friendly trail, featuring new deer ecology signs funded by Whitetails Unlimited. Peninsula programs are free and open to the public but a state park vehicle sticker is required.

Considered Wisconsin's most complete park, Peninsula offers 468 campsites, three group camps, a summer theater, an 18-hole golf course, sand beach, bike trails, a lighthouse and eight miles of Door County shoreline. The rollicking waves that skip towards Peninsula's sky high bluffs are part of the Niagara Escarpment.
