182 days old

Time: 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Activities: Outdoor activity, Volunteer opportunity, Work day, Work Play Earth Day
Location: Perrot SP

The Friends of Perrot State Park will be hosting our annual Work Play Earth Day volunteer event. We are asking for help to spruce up our campground, nature center and surrounding prairies. We will be pulling brambles and woody vegetation out of our prairies, removing invasive species, cleaning campsites, picking up litter in our campground, and cleaning the inside and outside of the nature center. Volunteers should wear work shoes/boots, long pants, and bring gloves. Individuals and group efforts are welcome. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Refreshments will be provided at noon. Park admission is free for those volunteering. For more information, please call 608-534-6409. Meet at the Nature Center.

Perrot SP information

Perrot State Park, where the Trempealeau River meets the Mississippi River, offers breathtaking views from 500-foot bluffs. The river bank and surrounding wetlands provide wonderful habitat for the many migratory birds that travel through this area twice a year. Unique to southwestern Wisconsin and Perrot are the goat prairies perched high on the bluffs.
