Point Beach Sand Sculpture Contest

Location: Point Beach SF

Join us for a day on the beach! Watch or build a sand sculpture! Registration for entry is Noon to 1 p.m. Everyone can join! No charge for contest registration. Sculpture building cannot begin prior to 8 a.m. Judging begins at 1 p.m. Awards ceremony to follow. You must be present to win.


  • Family - maximum of 5 with 2 adults and others less than 15 yrs.
  • Juvenile - maximum of 5, all less than 13 yrs.
  • Open - maximum of 5, any age.

This event is sponsored by the Friends of Point Beach State Forest. The contest will take place only on the beach parallel to the Lakeshore Picnic Area. Prizes will be awarded in each category. Awards have been donated by local businesses. Vehicle entrance fee to Point Beach State Forest still applies.


Point Beach SF information

Point Beach State Forest features 3,000 acres of land and six miles of sandy beach along the shores of Lake Michigan. Point Beach offers family campsites, two large group cabins and an outdoor group camp. A popular feature within the property is the Rawley Point Lighthouse, which has been operated and maintained by the U.S. Coast Guard since 1853.
