Summer Candlelight Hike

Time: 8:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
Activities: Candlelight events, Festivals, Food, Hike, Night event, Outdoor activity
Location: Kohler-Andrae SP

Annual self-guided hike along a marked trail illuminated by tiki torches. Park at Sanderling Nature Center Lot P3 or North Beach Lot P2. No pets or strollers allowed on the hike. Snacks and refreshments will be available at Sanderling Nature Center.

Kohler-Andrae SP information

Kohler-Andrae State Park in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, is the home of majestic sand dunes, miles of golden beach, shimmering blue Lake Michigan water, whispering pines, an abundance of wildlife, and recreational activities for everyone. Kohler-Andrae State Park is one of the last natural preserves along the Lake Michigan shore, and is open for everyone to explore and enjoy.

Candlelight Halloween Hike

Time: 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Location: Devil's Lake SP

Join us for lots of Halloween fun! There's a lot to do at this annual event sponsored by the Friends of Devil's Lake. You can go on a 2-mile torch lit hike; show off your costume by the campfire while roasting a marshmallow or two and listen to the songs of Campfire Kevin; enjoy some tasty treats; and find out about Wisconsin owls! You can even make some owl crafts to take home with you. The event is held at Chateau (North Shore Concessions).

Devil's Lake SP information

Founded in 1911, Devil's Lake is the third oldest state park in Wisconsin, the largest, and the most visited. Devil's Lake offers magnificent views from 500-foot quartzite bluffs overlooking a 360-acre lake. Enjoy lakeshore picnic areas, sandy swimming beaches, 29 miles of hiking trails, or ease into the backcountry solitude. Devil's Lake is a beautiful year-round park with an intriguing natural history along the 1,000-mile Ice Age National Scenic Trail.

Location: MacKenzie Center

Come on out to the MacKenzie Center for an evening hike through the trails. The illuminated trail will begin at the MacKenzie Center lodge and will include a campfire. Please park in the lodge parking lot and dress for the weather!

MacKenzie Center information

The MacKenzie Center, just 25 miles north of Madison, is one of the most diverse education centers in Wisconsin. With interpretive trails, exhibits, museums and programming available for school and youth groups, MacKenzie is a wonderful place to visit and learn about the natural world. The State Game Farm is connected to the MacKenzie Center and is adjacent to the arboretum on the western half of the property.
