Hourly Rate: Between $14.00 - $16.00 per hour depending on experience and training, plus $0.45 per hour for evenings after 6 p.m. and $0.60 per hour for Saturday and Sunday work.

Job Description: This position provides support developing real estate transaction documents needed for acquisition of DNR public lands, with an emphasis on Wildlife and Fishery properties. The person in this position will also provide technical expertise in the areas of boundary and trespass management and the request for special use of Department lands such as utility easements driveway requests, trail crossing requests and such other requests that may arise. The person in this position will also assist in the maintenance of financial information associated with real estate transactions. The position will work closely with Regional Real Estate Specialist and staff in the Real Estate Section in the Bureau of Facilities and Lands during the regular course of carrying out these duties 40% Assist with the tracking, negotiating and process of real estate transactions including but limited to Department land purchases or the sale or transfer of partial rights on lands owned and managed by the Department. a. Assemble basic real estate information such as legal descriptions, maps and real property records. b. Draft basic land use documents c. Maintain a tracking system for active real estate projects. d. Coordinate the review and approval of real estate documents and associated transactions with DNR field staff and central office. 40% Assist in the maintenance of records and correspondence needed for realty transactions. a. Record transactions in the Land Records System during processing. b. Process Option Packets c. Enter closed transactions into LRS 10% other duties that may be necessary to carry out the duties of the district real estate program.
Candidates must have sufficient training and experience to demonstrate that, upon appointment, the skills and knowledge necessary to perform the tasks have been acquired. Good communication skills both written and oral as well as good interpersonal skills. Attentive to detail and general knowledge regarding filing systems and ability to organize information. Ability to work in Microsoft Office to including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Some knowledge of the real estate process including a basic understanding of legal descriptions and the ability to read and interpret legal documents. Applicants must be able to work independently, be a team player, and be a motivated, self-starter with the ability to work with a wide range of people and attitudes.
