Job Description: Natural Resources Program Specialist - LTE

This position will support Wisconsin's flagship Green Tier program. Housed in the Sustainability and Business Support program, the person filling this role will need to have exceptional organization skills as well as experience writing press releases. Experience with page layout or other graphic design is very desirable.

30% Draft press releases and public notices for Green Tier applicants. Assure information about agreements, contracts, and charters is accurate on program materials shared with the public. Coordinate review with departments' staff and applicants. Coordinate with departments' communication staff for distribution.

30% Coordinate and edit statutorily required Green Tier biennial report to the legislature.

20% Design and execute public events to recognize Green Tier companies. Develop strategies for broad program recognition and participant specific initiatives via news releases, brochures, websites, etc. Coordinate event planning with participating companies; locate venues; manage logistics; draft talking points for attending officials and create web/print/media materials publicizing and memorializing events.

10% Log key dates to track progress of new applicants, participants to comply with statutory requirements. Maintain records to track quarterly and annual program growth. Maintain and track usage of the departments compliance audit program. Develop and maintain mailing lists.

5% Technology Sharing: Plan events and materials used to share environmental and economic gains realized by the program and facilitate the exchange of information among and between participants.

5% Miscellaneous tasks as requested

Knowledge Required:

Required Qualifications:
1.)Experience writing press releases
2.)Proven organizational skills
3.)Ability to work independently

Preferred Qualifications:
1.)Graphic design experience
2.)Knowledge of Wisconsin's business community
3.)Working understanding of sustainability practices for businesses and communities
