Primary Sites - Eastern Lake Superior

Primary sites were identified during the first phase of the project. Each site description provides general site characteristics, special features, location, a table of documented element occurrences, and an assessment of significance based on the information available.

Where applicable, a table of Element Occurrences (EOs) for each site is found after the site description. The Element Occurrence tables consist of the rare animals, plants, or natural communities that are currently being tracked by the Natural Heritage Inventory program
(learn more) and are documented within a given site. Note that certain sensitive species may have been removed from the tables. In addition, the tables summarize current NHI data for a given site and are not intended to be all-inclusive of elements that actually occur at any given site.
