Black Creek Watershed 303d and Watershed Review Monitoring WCR_03_CMP12

WCR proposes to evaluate streams in the Black Creek Watershed in Marathon County. Limited fish and macroinvertebrate data has been collected from streams in the watershed. Landuse is dominated by agriculture including larger permitted CAFOs. Data collected will be used to determine current and potential biological uses and evaluate stream conditions.

Data collected will be used to identify potential impaired waterbodies and evaluate stream conditions for watershed planning purposes. Some recent limited fishery information has been collected but additional data is needed to more fully evaluate stream conditions.

1) Number of sample sites associated with the project. Surveys will be completed at approximately 20 sites throughout the watershed 2) Number of sampling events associated with project. 3) Estimated date when sample collection will be complete. Fish and qualitative habitat surveys will be completed July through September, continuous temperature data will be collected from June through August and macroinvertebrate samples will be collected in fall. 4) Estimated date when all data will be entered into appropriate database. Fish and habitat data will be entered into the FH database during the following winter and macroinvertebrate data will be uploaded by UWSP when sample analysis is complete. 5) Estimated date when final report will be complete. Data will be used to update the watershed table in WATERS the following winter. Streams identified as having poor or fair biotic integrity will be evaluated for impairments.
