Fischer Creek assessment NER_10_CMP11
Return to Search
This project is to do an initial assessment on Fischer Creek to determine if there are any impairments and if additional data are needed to determine if the creek should be added to the impaired waters list. The timing of this project is excellent because the fisheries folks will be assessing the fish community in Fischer Creek this summer so this monitoring can be used in conjunction with the fish data to determine the current overall stream health.
Macroinvertebrate samples will be collected in fall at 3 sites; a continuous temperature probe will be installed for one month in the summer; qualitative habitat surveys will be conducted at 3 sites, and fish survey will be conducted by fisheries staff at 3 sites in summer. All data will be entered in SWIMS and a report generated by June, 2011.
