WCR Regional 303d Stream Monitoring - WCR07_10

Purpose

Project Description: WCR is submitting one 303d stream special project to evaluate 43 streams sites in the Region. Some streams are currently on the 303d list and other streams that are considered potential 303d candidates. Each Basin Biologist will work with the Regional LTE crew to recon sites, complete fish and habitat surveys and collect macroinvertebrates. Continuous temperature and dissolved oxygen monitoring may be completed to help determine impairments to the aquatic community. Monitoring will be completed throughout the summer and into the fall. Streams are located throughout the Region and monitoring will be coordinated with other monitoring activities to make field work as efficent as possible.

Objective

Project Justification: The Bureau has established impaired waterbody monitoring as a high priority for the state. The Federal Clean Water Act requires States to evaluate waterbodies and maintain a current and comprehensive list of Impaired Waters. Data collected from this project will be used to make stream listing/delisting recommendations.

Outcome

Activity Code: WTSO Data collected from this project will be used to make stream listing/delisting recommendations. Data documentation sheets will be created or updated and uploaded in WATERS.
