Here are answers to some of the recent most frequently asked law enforcement questions taken this week by the DNR Call Center.
The Call Center is staffed daily, 7 a.m. - 10 p.m., and offers bilingual service in Spanish and Hmong. The number is 1-888-936-7463.

Question 1: I am having trouble buying certain kinds of licenses. Why?

Answer: Bobcat, sharp-tail grouse, spring and fall turkey cannot be purchased or applied for until sometime in June 2012. The fees for spring and fall turkey are included in the patron license so the patron holders should watch for their spring mailing for more information on applying.

Question 2: If I purchase my fishing license today, do I have to use my old one until March 31 when it expires?

Answer: No, when you purchase your 2012-2013 license it is valid immediately and can be used immediately.

Question 3: If I was awarded a spring turkey permit, can I buy a leftover tag?

Answer: Leftover permits are available to any hunter wishing to purchase them -- whether or not they were awarded a permit. They are limited to first-come, first-serve, one per day until the permits are gone.

Question 4: How do I know if I will receive a turkey/bear permit?

Answer: A customer service representative can look up to see if you received a permit or not. If awarded, you will also receive notice in the mail.
