Rusty crayfish

Source: Wisconsin DNR Aquatic Invasive Species program

Date: Data continuously updated. Metadata last updated 5/09

This data represents waterbodies where rusty crayfish have been found. These invasive crustaceans may be found in other waterbodies, but their presence has not been confirmed outside of the waters listed here. Rusty crayfish monitoring is conducted on Wisconsin’s lakes and streams in the summer months, with the presence lists compiled in the fall.

Rusty crayfish are aggressive and outcompete native crayfish for food.
