Kettle Moraine State Forest - Lapham Peak Unit Reservable shelters

There are three picnic areas in the forest at Evergreen Grove, Homestead Hollow and the observation tower. Two areas have shelters that can be reserved.

Reservations may be made up to 11 months in advance. For all reservations, use the Facility Rental Reservation Form (please note this application form does not guarantee your reservation - the property office will notify you when your reservation has been confirmed). Reservations may be made in person, by mail, e-mail or via telephone. If calling in a reservation, be ready to provide the information requested on the form. Vehicle admission stickers are required on all vehicles. For more information, please contact the property office.

Shelters

The Evergreen Shelter is at the lower parking lot area and has electric heat, indoor bathrooms, water and a wood stove. The building has a capacity of 50 and includes six plastic round tables and 36 chairs. The Evergreen Shelter can be reserved during the non-ski season.

Trecker Lodge is in the Homestead Hollow area. There is a heated bathroom building at the parking lot. A lighted pathway leads down to the Lodge. There is electric heating, a water fountain and a fireplace. The building has a capacity of 100 with nine plastic round tables and 75 chairs.

The Hausmann Nature Center is nestled in a beautiful wooded setting inside Lapham Peak Unit of the Kettle Moraine State Forest, just 30 miles west of Milwaukee. It is a perfect place to host birthday parties, showers, wedding receptions or business meetings/retreats..
