Area and Dane County's Lake Farm Park, offer many recreation opportunities, including camping, hiking and skiing trails, picnicking, fishing, and a boat launch on Lake Waubesa. The Capital City State Trail connects Capital Springs and Lake Farm Park to the city of Madison.

- The DNR and Dane County Parks cooperatively operate and manage Capital Springs State Park and Recreation Area. Capital Springs is open year-round from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Directions
From Madison or Interstate Highway I-90, take the West Beltline (US Highway 12/18 to the South Towne Drive Exit (exit 264) and go south. Continue for about one mile and then turn left on Moorland Road, which turns into Lake Farm Road after the road curves. At 3101 Lake Farm Road, the Lussier Family Heritage Center and campground are on the left. Geographic coordinates are 43° 1' 37" N, 89° 20' 42" W.
The Jenni and Kyle Preserve, part of Capital Springs State Recreation Area, is at 925 Post Road. From the Beltline Highway (US 12/14/18/151), take Fish Hatchery Road south to Greenway Cross. Turn left (this becomes Stewart Street) and continue for 0.5 mile. Turn right onto Watford Way and go 0.3 miles to Post Road. Turn left and go 0.1 mile. The parking lot is on the right.
