Belmont, from the French belle monte, means "beautiful mountain."
The top of Belmont Mound is 1,400 feet above sea level. From the tower atop the mound in the center of the park, you can see for many miles in all directions, to the Wisconsin
River valley, Iowa and Illinois. Wisconsin's First Capitol
historic site is a half mile west of the park.

Welcome!
- The park is operated by the Belmont Lions Club.
- Eighty acres in the northwest corner of the park are designated as Belmont Mound Woods State Natural Area.
Directions
From U.S. Highway 151 in Belmont, turn west on County Highway G. Follow Highway G west and north about two miles to East Mound Road. Turn left and go about 0.15 miles. The park entrance will be on your right.
