Wisconsin State Park System Contests and promotions

Several photography contests for Wisconsin State Parks are held annually; some are statewide and others are specific to a property. The Wisconsin State Park System also holds an annual sticker design contest for high school students.

2016 state park sticker design contest

Wisconsin state park and forest annual vehicle admission stickers are designed by high school students chosen in a statewide contest. The design contest, sponsored by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, is open to all high school age students attending public, private or parochial schools in Wisconsin.

Entries for the 2017 sticker design contest are being accepted now through Wednesday, April 13, 2016.

2016 Winners

2016 winning design by Rachael Wirth, two hikers under a starry night skyThe winning 2016 admission sticker, with two hikers under a starry night sky was designed by Rachael Wirth, a senior at Appleton North High School. The winning design will be printed on state park and forest annual vehicle admission stickers and will be displayed on more than 265,000 vehicles.

Photography contests

Wisconsin is a beautiful state to photograph any time of year and there is no better place to enjoy the state’s seasonal offerings than Wisconsin’s State Parks. If you enjoy photography and would like to submit some of your best photos, check below for deadlines, entry rules and contest information.

Friends of Wisconsin State Parks

The Friends of Wisconsin State Parks (FWSP) holds an annual photography contest. Winning submissions are chosen for the Friends’ Calendar with 100 percent of the Calendar proceeds going to FWSP to aid local friends groups.

Buckhorn/Roche-A-Cri State Parks

Buckhorn and Roche-A-Cri state parks hold an annual photography contest. Photographs can be entered in the categories of wildlife, people using the park, open (landscapes, etc.) and youth (for photographers 18 and younger). Prizes are awarded.

Council Grounds State Park

Council Grounds State Park is holding a photo contest. The contest is organized by the Park's Friends Group. Come enjoy the Park and remember to bring a camera along to take photos for the contest!

Office of the Great Lakes

The Office of the Great Lakes holds an annual photography and writing contest. Winning submissions are chosen for the Great Lakes Calendar. Writing submissions may also be featured in the calendar and on the DNR website and other publications.
