Don't move firewood!
Due to the potential of carrying harmful tree pests and diseases, Wisconsin has restrictions for moving firewood.

There are no longer carts available. Campers need to backpack or bring their own. There is a fee for transporting carts on the ferry.
Beech bark disease is causing many trees to die and cutting of hazard trees will continue along trails and other areas. The appearance of the forest is going to change drastically during the next few years due to this disease.
