Roche-A-Cri State Park Current conditions

Conditions as of Monday, Sept. 26, 2016:

Notice: The Spring Peeper Trail, the trail by Carter Creek across from the petroglyphs, and the trail coming into the park from the prairie/winter parking lot are closed and under water at this time due to high water on Carter Creek. The campground, main road and other areas are dry and in good condition.

Trails

Trails are open. Please remember no food, pets or drinks are allowed on the stairway. Users must keep on the stairway to protect the fragile ecosystem of the bluff. The stairway is open from 6 a.m. to sunset.

Events

See the DNR Events Calendar for a list of events at Roche-A-Cri and other state parks. Check out drop in programs on Wednesdays and naturalist programs on Saturdays.

The Friends of Roche-A-Cri Fall Festival will be held on Saturday, October 1 from 1-5 p.m. with a Universe in the Park program starting at 6:30 p.m.

Now is the time to start sending in photos for the photo contest. Deadline is October 6.

Camping

Don't move firewood!

Don't move firewood!Due to the potential of carrying harmful tree pests and diseases, Wisconsin has restrictions for moving firewood.

The park three non-reservable, first-come, first-served campsites.

There are five electric sites in the park. If the office is closed or you use the prairie/winter parking lot, please self-register for park stickers.

Hunting

Hunting in the state park does not start until November 15. Hunting maps are available online or at the park office.

More information

In season, GPS units, horseshoes and volleyballs are available to check out at the park office.

When the office is closed, please self-register for park admission and camping fees.
